Winter is here...

I've been in the studio for the last several months writing and recording with singer guitarist Michael Schoen. He's a native New Yorker and Montauk transplant with the surf in his blood. He plays emotional acoustic pisces rock. We have cut several tunes together and are finally finishing up 5 by the year's end. He was discovered surfing in Montauk by Bruce Weber, who in turn put him in the Abercrombie catalog... the one that was banned. He managed to keep his clothes on, which was a feat in its own. Eric Klaastad has shown up at Flow NY and cut some bass guitar for us. Justin Guip the great drummer from Mer brought his good spirit and groove to the recordings, and is featured on all the tracks. We spent a nice day hanging at the upstate studio with Mary, Angus and Fiona. I've enjoyed playing a lot of guitar and bringing out the Echoplex for some of the dream state treatment. Check out some tracks here.

Georgie Ayala has been a big part of our lives these days. Check out his website and do your DNA a favor. Michael and I would also like to personally thank Georgie for his help, as well as our late night minglings with the great JL.

Check out Cilla. A friend of mine heard some tracks and says she is like a female Maxwell. Others have compared her to Sade. I think she's a remarkable talent. Check it out for yourself and email me. Props go out to Eric Klaastad, Robert Aaron, and DJ Covex for bringing my tracks to life.

Also visiting Flow NY is Reni J from VA. Reni is 16 years old and wise beyond her years. I helped her co-write a few tunes and she is coming back to do more work in the next few months.

In closing I must say that since the "election," there is a sadness in my heart for our country. Has the wool finally been lifted, or have priorities changed. All I know is that I see a great division out there. I also live in a city which celebrates globalism and multi-culturalism. I also lived through 9-11 as a downtowner. There was a short time when we were united. Equality means that people can all be different, not polarized. I hope we can come together for the right reasons and celebrate life and love with meaningful words and great music.

have a peace filled new year!
