I've just finished
writing with a band called The
Deuce Project, that will be coming out on Maverick in January.
The single is a song called "Stone Cold." I'm singing on
a couple of tracks, play some guitar and keys. I also was able to
write a few songs and have some fun with Josh and Noah, and The Berman
Bros. Virgin Megastore says, "The pop act that fall somewhere
between Jeff Buckley and Howie Day are the discovery of Maverick A&R
guru Guy Oseary (Alanis Morissette)."
I've also been working on my own stuff and am finishing up my record
in the bedroom. Its called "Eastern Standard Time," and
is a collection of songs I've written and recorded over the last year.
I've had the pleasure to work with a real maestro on bass. His name
is Eric Klaastad (Johnny Winter, Debbie Harry, Art Garfunkel, etc.).
Eric is playing a lot of upright and fretless bass, so the sound is
really very different and more melodic than Mer. Justin from Mer has
joined us on a couple of tracks and brought some of his drum magic
to the record. There is a cut or two on the site you can download
for free here.
I'm doing a weekly party these days at B3
in NYC. Come down on Wednesday nights after 10 and hang out. We're
always having special guests come by and play. The club is on 3rd
St. and Ave. B in the basement.
Lately been listening to Paul Weller's new solo album Days of Speed.
Its renewed my old love for the Jam and Paul's writing. Also love
the Beth Orton record Daybreaker. Saw her in Central Park and
although we were all boiling in the NYC sun, she's and the band were
great. I also heard some of the new Beck record and will probably
be checking that out before you are reading this.
Love to hear your comments about the site and life in general so please
feel free to drop me a line.
See ya soon,
